Skills development centre addressing the ‘gap’
I couldn’t agree more with the observation about the skills gap between manufacturing and education shared by Burlington MPP Jane McKenna in the Feb. 5 edition of the Burlington Post.
There is an obvious need for skilled labour and as The Centre for Skills Development & Training — a not-for-profit affiliate of the Halton District School Board — we are addressing that need.
We offer pre-apprenticeship skilled trades programs and our graduates are in demand. In fact, we have an ongoing job board of vacancies in the manufacturing sector from employers looking to hire our graduates.
I invite anyone who is interested in working in the skilled trades to visit us at 860 Harrington Ct., Burlington or check us out online at thecentre.on.ca.
