Industrial Millwright Mechanics are responsible for keeping the automation, robots and production equipment in a manufacturing facility running at maximum efficiency. They do this by adjusting, dismantling, welding, repairing and/or replacing equipment as required. Making replacement parts using a variety of hands-on machine tools is also among their many responsibilities.
Machinists interpret drawings and determine the best way to produce a part by selecting the appropriate raw material and performing necessary calculations. They also make the parts using the appropriate measuring equipment and machine tools. Tool & Die makers work on the same types of machines as Machinists to make parts that are then assembled into tools, dies, or fixtures.
