General Interest Courses
Why is The Centre no longer offering General Interest courses?
Over the past few years, interest in The Centre’s General Interest courses has diminished, and we had been cancelling classes on a regular basis due to lack of enrolment. At the same time, several other private companies and not-for-profit organizations offer similar training; and online training continues to grow in popularity. For these reasons, Centre management determined that the best course of action was to stop offering General Interest courses.
Where can I find other General Interest language and computer classes?
There are several convenient and inexpensive options for people who want to learn a language for fun or upgrade their computer skills. People looking for General Interest courses have many options, including local colleges and universities via their distance learning or continuing education departments; local libraries; school boards in some communities; private institutions (in-person and online).

I am already registered for a General Interest course through The Centre in the fall. How do I cancel my registration and get a refund?
Starting July 11, 2011 will be contacting all pre-registered clients directly to let them know of our decision. We will automatically be canceling all General Interest registrations on your behalf — you do not need to do anything. The Centre’s policy is to process payments the week prior to a course beginning. As of July 8, 2011, no payments for fall 2011 courses have been processed and we will no longer be accepting registrations.
What if I want to contact my instructor?
We will accept messages from former students until September 30, 2011 and we will relay these messages to your former instructor. However, it will be up to your former instructor to decide whether or not to return your message.
What if I have more questions?
You can contact us at 905-333-3499 ext. 128 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
