BURLINGTON, Ont. English as a Second Language students preparing to take the Canadian Citizenship Test can register for a free, nine day preparation course. Offered by The Centre for Skills Development & Training, the Citizenship Academy will teach students about
- The rights and responsibilities of citizenship
- Canada’s history, regions and economy
- Canadian government, the justice system and federal elections
The Citizenship Academy will be held August 4-14 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
There is no cost to participate though proof of language assessment level 5 or higher is required.
